In 2018, Form Lab carried out a number of FEA studies for Neutronium, supplying Simworx & FrontGrid to help in bringing an exciting new immersive VR attraction into reality. Paradrop VR is a premium VR attraction that puts the user in the seat of a paraglider as they fly over the local city landscape.

Paradrop Fork Weldment For FEA Testing

Form Lab worked closely with Neutronium Ltd, offering our Finite Element Analysis (#FEA) services to do performance testing on the mechanical structure required to make the Paradrop experience a reality. It was our role to carry out simulations on key parts of the structure from data we had been given on the expected forces to be applied to the system.

The FEA carried out by Form Lab was also used to ensure the frame passed certification, allowing the product to be brought to market.

Overall, the project was a great example of our FEA capabilities here at Form Lab and the value this service can bring to a project or design problem!
